Page Embed & Chat Link Styling

The Page Embed and Chat Link channels each have their own styling — headers, colors, welcome messages, and feedback — set independently from the widget.

On this page

The Page Embed (an inline chat panel inside your page) and the Chat Link (a hosted, shareable chat page) are styled separately from the Bot Widget — and separately from each other. This article covers every setting for both.

Each channel gets its own welcome message, header, and colors because each serves a different context: a widget tucked in a corner, an embed that's part of your page design, and a full-page chat someone opens from a link. Change one and the others stay exactly as they were.

Both tabs work the same way as the widget tab: settings on the left, a Live Preview on the right, and a shared Save Settings button in the sticky header. If a channel's Enabled toggle (top right of the tab) is off, its customization options are hidden until you turn it on.

Page Embed settings

The Page Embed renders inside a container on your page, so it has a few settings the widget doesn't: dimensions and a border.

Collect Feedback

On

The Chat Link tab starts with your Shareable Chat Link — the hosted URL for your bot, with Copy and Open buttons. Share it anywhere: email signatures, support replies, social bios.

Because the chat page is hosted by HelpJet, there's no container to size — the chat fills the page. The remaining settings mirror the Page Embed:

The Chat Link is often the first impression someone gets of your bot with zero surrounding page context, so the header matters more here — a clear Header Text like "Acme Support" and your logo go a long way.

Both channels show a Powered by HelpJet line under the message input, the same as the widget. Removing it requires the Remove "Powered by HelpJet" add-on — see Add-ons, Credits & White-labeling.

Common questions

I changed the widget's colors — why does my embed look the same as before?

Because the channels are independent by design. Update the Page Embed's settings on its own tab and click Save Settings.

Can I use different welcome messages per channel?

Yes — that's the point. A widget greeting ("Hi there! Questions?") can stay short, while your Chat Link welcome can be more complete since it's the whole page.

The customization options aren't showing

Check the Enabled toggle at the top of the tab. Disabled channels show a notice instead of their settings — turn the channel on to customize it.

Do saves apply per channel?

Save Settings saves everything on the Deploy page at once — widget, Page Embed, and Chat Link changes all publish together.
